Making music together as twins: Lorène and Marine
The French twin sisters, Lorène and Marine, are up and coming singer song writers with an incredible talent for music. The duo are so passionate about their craft that they moved to Los Angeles to pursue their dream at only 21 years old.
Read on to learn more about their journey, their favorite twin moment and how being twins have played a part in their careers.
Who are you and what do you do?
We are Lorène and Marine, 23-year-old twin sisters from France. We are singers songwriters!
How did you get started?
Music has always been one of the most important parts of our lives. We have always loved singing and writing- we obviously share the same passion! So after turning 21, we decided to come to LA to study Music Business and Music Production at UCLA Extension and do our best to make our dreams come true!
Do you see being a twin as a strength or weakness in getting to where you are today?
It never really was a weakness, but for a long time it annoyed us to be twins. People never knew who we were- we were just "the twin" and "the other one" because nobody could tell who was who.
Then we grew up, and we understood our likeness was a strength - and as a duo, being twins is definitely something we play with and show! People always remember us, and that is a really good thing!
What's your favorite twin moment?
We don't really have one favorite moment - we really just enjoy every "twin moment" we have. When we say something only our sister can understand, when we start singing the same song at the same time, when we answer exactly the same thing as one person, etc... It always makes us smile!
When you argue, how long does it take for you to become friends?
Never long! Sometimes we can have a really bad fight, and we won't talked for hours, and then one of us will just go see or text the other to tell her something and we'll just talk again like nothing ever happened!
What do you think everyone should know about being twins?
We are twins, we love each other unconditionally and we have a bond nobody can understand if they don't have a twin, but we are still two different people. At least for us, this is really important.
Our parents raised us making sure we always know we are two different individuals, with two different personalities. We never wore the same clothes, or when we did, it was different colors, etc...
Today when people meet us for the first time and see we are twins, they always ask us: do you share the same boyfriend? Are you gonna get married at the same time? Some are just kidding, some are serious.
But no- we are twins, we might have almost the same face, but we have our own life, our own bodies, brains and opinions!
How would you style a Twinning Store t-shirt?
Marine would wear it in white, with a high waist black pair of jeans and black boots.
Lorène will wear it in black with a faux cuir skirt and white sneakers!
